Binatone X350 GPS Review
By GPS Nutter in GPS. December 5, 2008
This is one of the cheapest entry level Sat Navs around in the UK at the moment.
Binatone X350
The X350 has a nice expensive looking black and silver casing with an SD slot, mini USB, 3.5mm headphone jack, a TMC socket and even a stylus on the side. For the price you get a slim attractive looking Sat Nav with UK / Ireland maps - the European maps costing a little extra - and a 3.5 inch screen. Surprisingly for an entry level unit it also has a built in image and document viewer.
The 3.5 inch screen isn't the largest and is certainly no wide screen but it is bright and easy to read with a nice almost rubber like feel to the rim. Graphics are clear with some nice design touches such as shadows. A nice touch, we thought, was the automatic night mode.
Accuracy of the built in Navteq maps are as good as any other we've tested, with both 2D and 3d views, it offers multipoint and alternative routes - great for recalculating a journey when you hit those jams. However route calculation can be sluggish at times. The voice is very clear, no buzzing speakers. The main interface is simple and straight forward and very easy to use with the main options such as volume and routes just a couple of clicks away.
Overall an nice entry level GPS with some surprisingly expensive looking features.
